About Michael Betham
Michael Betham is the Director of Eyes On Mangawhai and a proud member of the Mangawhai community. Based in Mangawhai Heads, Michael started Eyes On Mangawhai because he saw a genuine need in the community — a trustworthy, locally-operated service that holiday homeowners and property investors could rely on to keep their properties safe when they could not be there themselves.
Michael brings a community-first approach to every client relationship. He understands the unique character of Mangawhai and the value that holiday homes and investment properties hold for their owners. When you engage Eyes On Mangawhai, you are not dealing with a faceless company. You are dealing with a local person who cares about this community and takes genuine pride in looking after what matters to you.
How We Work
Eyes On Mangawhai provides scheduled external property checks at the frequency you choose — weekly, fortnightly, or monthly. Each visit follows a consistent protocol designed to give you a complete picture of your property’s condition after every inspection.
During each visit we conduct a full external perimeter walk, visually inspect all access points including doors, windows, and gates, check for weather damage or storm impact, photograph any findings or changes, and provide you with a clear digital report within 24 hours of the visit. If anything urgent is discovered during a visit, we notify you immediately.
All access information provided to Eyes On Mangawhai — including gate codes, lockbox codes, and physical keys — is stored securely and confidentially. Physical keys are kept in a dedicated EOM lockbox labelled only with an internal reference, never with your name, address, or identifying details.
Our Community
We also maintain a working relationship with Mangawhai emergency services including the Mangawhai Police Station, Mangawhai Volunteer Fire Brigade, St John Mangawhai, and Mangawhai Coastguard — ensuring that in any genuine emergency situation, the right people are contacted without delay.
